Marilyne Aalhus
Executive Director
marilyne@airdriechamber.ab.caFor almost 15 years Marilyne has had the privilege of calling Airdrie home and can’t think of a better place to work, volunteer, and raise a family. Since September 2018, she has had the honour of leading the Airdrie Regional Chamber of Commerce team as Executive Director.
Marilyne has a bilingual marketing degree from Campus St Jean in Edmonton and graduated from the Television Broadcasting program at SAIT.
She worked for Global News Calgary for several years but always had a passion for helping others. After starting a family with her husband Bruce over 18 years ago, she left broadcasting to pursue a fulltime career in the non-profit world. Having worked for organizations such as the MS Society, the Canadian Red Cross, and the Missing Children’s Society, Marilyne has built many strong connections and experiences in non-profit management.
Closer to home, Marilyne has had the privilege of working for Volunteer Airdrie, the Airdrie Public Library and ultimately, she found her place at the Airdrie Chamber where she has been able to grow our amazing organization while working with so many wonderful individuals.
Marilyne was awarded the Alberta Chamber Executive of the Year Award for 2021 and our team and business community is very lucky and grateful to have such an amazing leader. Marilyne has done and continues to do an incredible job of growing the chamber and increasing the value of what it means to be a member.

Tammy Block
Marketing & Membership Coordinator
tammy@airdriechamber.ab.caTammy grew up in a small town in Saskatchewan and studied Visual Communications at Medicine Hat College, earning her diploma before moving to Calgary to start her career in marketing. It wasn’t long before she launched her own consulting and graphic design business—something she's proud to still operate today. Over the years, she's worn many hats, from managing a small print shop to taking on various marketing roles at a large tech company.
In 2011, her and her family moved to Airdrie, drawn to the sense of community that reminded her of her small-town roots. While still working full-time in Calgary, her and a childhood friend decided to take a leap and open an indoor cycling studio in Airdrie. They joined the pilot year of the SMARTstart entrepreneurial training program and, in 2015, officially opened our doors. That’s when she made the big decision to leave her corporate job and fully embrace entrepreneurship. Running the studio was an incredible journey—she handled marketing, events, and even hopped on the bike to teach classes. They navigated the challenges of running a small business, including the global pandemic, but ultimately, after six years, they made the tough call to close their doors.
During the pandemic, Tammy stepped into a part-time role as the Marketing Communications Coordinator at the Chamber, which has since grown to include Membership Coordinator. Helping businesses succeed has always been a passion of hers, and five years later, she's still excited to continue supporting and advocating for local entrepreneurs.
